From infertility to being blessed with 6 children, from counting down the days they would all be in school to being a homeschooling mom, Sherrie's life has followed the meandering path of God's blessings and leading. Homeschooling, in the early years, was short on resources and long on creativity. Sherrie's dedication to helping her children love learning inspired her to create and engage with her children and others God brought to their one-room schoolhouse on Indian Creek.
One of the hallmarks of her classroom was the necessity of 3-ring binders in various colors. The "directed notebooking approach" allowed her to combine the classical education and Charlotte Mason learning styles with self-directed interest-based education. Her students were challenged to think deeply and create through words, art, or 3D projects to help them retain their knowledge.
Sherrie's ability to modify and adapt curriculum for gifted and struggling students (often in the same class) gives her a unique perspective to encourage parents to be successful within their own families.
